Baja
"Baja, the town of taste and water"
Baja is a multiracial town with 40.000 inhabitants. The extremely rich natural
environment, the possibility of the Danube traversing gave important role
to the town during the centuries. It became the common living space and
home of the Hungarian, German, Serbian, Croatian nationalities during the
historical events. The hospitality, multi-coloured tradition keeping culture,
architecture, handicraft of the local people made Baja one of the most
prominent tourist centre of the South Great Plain region. Visitors are
welcomed with colourful programs and besides theatre, music and artistic
experience, they can enjoy gastronomic experience as well. The town settled
on the left bank of the Danube and its surroundings is the world of sunshine,
water and forest hiding colourful fauna. There are only a few similar places
in Europe, where the harmony of the river, the natural riverbanks and gallery
forests can be admired. The Kamarás-Danube (Sugovica) as a rare
present of nature flows near the town in a tender span and surrounds the
tourist paradise Petofi-island together with Ferenc-channel. It can be
reached across a bridge from the town centre, there is a pavement along
the shady riverbank. Fishermen, swimmers and water-sport fans find ideal
conditions for recreation.
The
annual Fish Soup Cooking Festival on the second Saturday of each July attracts
thousands of people to Baja's main square from all over the world. This is
a feast, not a contest! Friends, acquaintances, sit around the pots, there
are well-known actors, sportsmen, politicians among them. There must be good
quality wine on the tables of the enormous open-air restaurant, entertainment
is ensured by high-standard folklore and pop music programs. The Baja fish
soup can be tasted in most restaurants of the town every day. Information

Dunafalva
A small village 20 km from Baja, at the bank of the river surrounded by forests, dead channels belonging to the Danube-Dráva National Park. Its past reaches back to Latin times and it is justified by the ruins of the one time fortress. It is a favoured beauty spot and holiday resort. The avifauna of the National Park is well-known all over Europe, it is a popoular research area of the ornithologists. The local hunting society receives guest hunters.
Boat-excursion to Dunafalva: A day-long boat-excursion from
Baja, walk at the ruins of the Roman fortress, swimming, sun-bathing in the
camping, return to Baja in the afternoon.

Dávod
The two thermal pools of the spa on the area of Dávod-Püspökpuszta are visited with pleasure by those who suffer of rheumatic problems. It has a swimming pool for children, a cold water swimming pool and a beach ball field. The ingredients of minerals make the water perfect to treat alveole problems by a drinking cure.
Nagybaracska
Among Nagybaracska's natural values one of the most popular is the 36 °C thermal water coming from 400 meters which is perfect to treat locomotors disorder because of its sodium, hydrogen-carbonate, chloride, fluoride content. The 17 hectare Old-Danube Füzesi dead channel is the paradise of fisherman. Open beach and boating possibilities wait for those who wish to rest at the side of the Ferenc channel.
Kiscsala
Kiscsala can be reached between Kecel and Császártöltés at the 68 km mark approach road
Középcsala
Középcsala is a small hidden village in the central of Bács-Kiskun County's greatest connected forest. It can be reached near from Császártöltés, from the 54 main road at the 4 km stone on a good quality dirt road. Császártöltés is a Kraut nationality village. Maria Teresa settled people from the Black Forest to this depopulated area in 1744. Its sandy soil is good for vineyard that most families deal with. Clean, neat village with unique cellars.
