Dear Guest,

"We are in the world in order to be at home somewhere", said Tamási Áron, a Hungarian writer. This home is Bács-Kiskun County for us. Several valuable traditions can be found in our hospitable towns and villages which have been enriched and formed by generations. If you go through our website it will not be difficult to discover how we preserve old traditions and you will also find cultural, art and community festivals reflecting the today’s challenges. Wide range of international, national, county and local festivals, sport events, village days, sports competitions can also be found in the programme.

In our county several communities have discovered and they preserve the festivals related to wine and cuisine. Various types of our county wine not only have excellent flavour - they compete successfully with other Hungarian wine regions – but also they have beautiful appearance besides their special fragrance and flavour.
People who live here offer the treasure of their grapes and wine cellars with great hospitality to their guests. At the end of May I would like to invite those who like excellent wine to Hajós, to the Orbán Day Festival, to a traditional wine celebration.
In the beginning of July, in Baja known as the "town of waters and flavours" guests and local people look forward to the moment when the fire is lit under thousands of cauldrons with the genuine fish soup Baja style in them. In autumn guests are attracted to Kalocsa to the Paprika Festival. I also would like to invite you to the summer Cock Stew Competition in Rém, the Kiskunfélegyháza Goose Festival in autumn, the Kiskõrös Harvest Days and the Kecel Flower Festival in winter.

I am inviting and expecting visitors to Bács-Kiskun County, to Kecskemét, be our guests to let us show the hidden image guests can only experience if they turn to local people with openness and interest. I hope you will decide to rediscover one or two regions or towns of Bács-Kiskun county by visiting village days and the beautiful festivals of different communities.
